I started playing along with this meme after I saw it on Amanda’s blog Literary Weaponry. Time for part four!
The idea is:
- You go on to your Goodreads want to read shelf.
- Order the books so the date ascends.
- Take the first 5 or however many you want books. If you’re already doing this you start where you left off last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Then decide whether it stays or goes!
I’ve decided to do six books at a time from now otherwise I’ll still be doing this in years to come!
Current TBR: 229
Further Under The Duvet by Marian Keyes – So I haven’t read the first book so I don’t know why I have the sequel on the list. It’s described as a mix of articles and short stories from the author’s life. Seeing as I still haven’t read any of her actual books this doesn’t really interest me. DELETE
Labyrinth by Kate Mosse- This only seems to have mid-line reviews, no one on Goodreads seems to have loved it. Yet it’s a cross between historical fiction and fantasy which is pretty much the ideal genre for me! Based on the Holy Grail which I haven’t read any books on. For now KEEP
Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan – I think I added this as it’s one of those series that most people seem to have read when they were younger. I still want to read it and most of the reviews seem positive so it’s a KEEP
Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer – Another ya fantasy that I haven’t read. A twelve year old millionaire, genius and criminal mastermind kidnaps a fairy. Very mixed reviews, people either love it or hate it. I, however, still want to read all the ya fantasy. KEEP
Angel Cake by Cathy Cassidy – I’m pretty sure I’ve read one of her books before but can’t remember what it was. Lots of people seem to be comparing Cassidy with Jacqueline Wilson but in a good way. Seems like a fun teen read. Anya moves to the UK from Poland and has to deal with trying to fit into a new school until she meets bad boy Dan. This is one I might pick up if it’s ever on a Kindle deal. KEEP
Tell Me No Lies by Malorie Blackman – I’ve only read the Noughts and Crosses series (still need to read the last one) from Blackman but really enjoyed it which is why I probably added more of her books to my list. The blurb doesn’t really say much other than it’s about Gemma and Mike whose lives are linked. There seems to be more negative than positive reviews for this one but I’d still like to read more books from Blackman. KEEP
New TBR: 228
Managed to get rid of a grand total of one…
