I started playing along with this meme after I saw it on Amanda’s blog Literary Weaponry. Time for part seven!
The idea is:
- You go on to your Goodreads want to read shelf.
- Order the books so the date ascends.
- Take the first 5 or however many you want books. If you’re already doing this you start where you left off last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Then decide whether it stays or goes!
Current TBR: 219
So looking at this shelf it now seems to be mainly ones that Amazon have added automatically as they are books that are on my kindle. So I might skip those and just do the ones I have manually added.
The Postmortal by Drew Magary – This is set in a future world where there is a cure for old age and is written in the form of blog posts. I love a dystopian. KEEP
Talking As Fast As I Can by Lauren Graham – I love Gilmore Girls which is why I most likely added this. Lauren looks back on her life including her time on Gilmore Girls. Some reviews say it’s better to listen to the audio book as Lauren herself narrates it. KEEP
Get Well Soon: History’s Worst Plagues and the Heroes Who Fought Them by Jennifer Wright – I think this had been on one of Goodreads award lists and, loving learning about history especially the medicine side, I added it to my list. One of the first examples is a woman who danced herself to death. Mainly good reviews. KEEP
Astrophysics For People In A Hurry by Neil DeGrasse Tyson – I obviously thought quite a few sounded interesting on the non fiction list! I do find the universe quite mind-boggling so it would be good to learn more about it. KEEP
We Have No Idea: A Guide To The Unknown Universe by Jorge Cham and Daniel Whiteson – Some reviews have said that the humour in this one is a bit over the top and repetative. I think I’ll stick to the previous one. DELETE
New TBR: 218 I think there are a few more of these I can do but the majority of the books now are ones automatically added by Amazon because I bought the Kindle version.
