Down The TBR Hole #9

I started playing along with this meme after I saw it on Amanda’s blog Literary Weaponry. Time for part nine!

The idea is:

  • You go on to your Goodreads want to read shelf.
  • Order the books so the date ascends.
  • Take the first 5 or however many you want books. If you’re already doing this you start where you left off last time.
  • Read the synopses of the books
  • Then decide whether it stays or goes!

Current TBR: 221 (It’s gone up because I was tempted my more Kindle books. Oops!)

Warrior of the Wild by Tricia Levenseller – I’m not sure where I discovered this but it might have been from tata.lifepages’ bookstagram? Rasmira fails her coming of age trial and is banished to the monster filled wilderness. In order to win back her honour she must kill the oppressive god who claims tributes from the villages every year. Young adult – tick, fantasy- tick. KEEP

Stronger Than A Bronze Dragon by Mary Fan – When a powerful viceroy arrives with a fleet of mechanical dragons and stops an attack on Anlei’s village The villagers agree to give him their sacred, enchanted River Pearl in exchange for protection—if he’ll marry one of the village girls to solidify the alliance. Anlei is appalled when the viceroy selects her. But then a thief steals the River Pearl. I’ve no idea where I discovered this but it sounds interesting. KEEP

Last Of Her Name by Jessica Khoury – So lots of reviewers are saying this is a retelling of Anastasia Romanov but set in space. Some seem to absolutely love it and some hate it. I loved Nadine Brand’s fantasy retelling Romanov so I think I’d probably like this too. KEEP

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi – This one I’ve seen on bookstagram a lot even this year. Young adult fantasy. Give me all the young adult fantasy! KEEP

Black Nowhere by Reece Hirsch – I think this may have been one of my kindle first choices. A thriller based on an FBI agent who goes undercover to take down cybercriminals. Completely mixed reviews but doesn’t really seem to be my thing. DELETE

New TBR: 220.
