I started playing along with this meme after I saw it on Amanda’s blog Literary Weaponry. I still can’t find the original blog. Time for part eleven!
The idea is:
- You go on to your Goodreads want to read shelf.
- Order the books so the date ascends.
- Take the first 5 or however many you want books. If you’re already doing this you start where you left off last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Then decide whether it stays or goes!
Current TBR: 220 Most of these I added this year so I doubt I’ve changed my mind!
Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston – This one isn’t my usual genre as I don’t normally read contemporary romance. This is one I added after seeing it everywhere on Bookstagram, all with positive mentions. It has mainly five star or one star reviews on Goodreads so I’m guessing you either love it or hate it. There seems to be no middle ground! Sounds like a cute story so KEEP
A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer – Yet another one all over Bookstagram. I’m obviously easily influenced! This one is an original retelling of Beauty and the Beast and I definitely still want to read it! KEEP
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han – This trilogy has been on my wishlist for a while. I loved the film and really want to read these before a third film comes out. I never watch films before the books but somehow that has happened with these. KEEP
The Splendid and The Vile by Erik Larson – I literally have no idea why I added this or how I found out about it. It’s described as a non fiction book about the life of Winston Churchill but reads like fiction. It has all good reviews and I like history so for now KEEP
The Boy Who Steals Houses by C.G.Drews – I’ve been following @paperfury on Bookstagram for a while now. Her feed is beautiful and I love reading her blog. So of course I want to read her books! KEEP
New TBR: 220. And it hasn’t gone down again. What a surprise.
Have you read any of these?
